Back from the Dead

Well I am back... I finished the 74 Ironhead...finally ! Very Happy with it..so far... Great sound  Engine rips.. I do have a few things i will change...but for now  its awesome..Photos coming today

Front end

Got the front done...chopped the tubes 4 inches and clipped the springs 1 1/2 inches...dropped pretty nice ...very happy with the result...

Making myself a seat

Still working with leather....made a seat...12 oz rawhide..coming together..see what you think, not finished yet...gotta stain still and a few things

Working

Just workin on getting the bike together. Had to do a ton of changes...chain hits the battery box, and brake needed tweeking.  Anyway, also gotta sell some houses so I can pay for stuff, so have been out of touch lately...which is a drag, but ...you gotta do what you gotta do. 

Weather is getting nice here, so almost time to rip it up

Alligator Alley..Miami to Naples AT Sunset

Awesome is the word..I guess, getting out with some friends and riding...sun up till sundown..Man I could do it everyday....if I could afford it.

Rode Florida...from Jacksonville...to the Keys, up Gulf to Sarasota..across through the Forest..Ripping ride 1100 miles in 3 days

Leaving now for Florida....

Trailer to Jacksonville and then we ride from there...Down to Key West..back up to Sarasota...and then Jacksonville...10 days...gonna rock...snow storm here yesterday in Toronto...perfect time to split

I just made this rawhide 13 oz leather bag for the Florida trip..stain everywhere

Turned out pretty good..got the 12 gauge snaps

Cant wait to rip this thing around

Getting the tubes cut down to 3 1/2 under...should be good

Still needs a bit to be desired...but not a bad first shot at it...

Long Winter...but got to work on the Ironhead...

Learned a lot this winter, got a little better at my welding. Finished the motor, with all the help in the world from Ian March..thx Ian.

Cant wait to ride...get the winter blues away...Here is my progress...still got a ways to go...

Painted the frame myself after I got all the tabs figured out...did the Indian larry oil filter weld on...

Work

I should probably be working...at my regular job..but its tough. All i want to do is ride motorcycle...when I am not doing that I want to work on them..old, new dirt, street..doesnt really matter.

Am I losing my mind ? This is the big question...obsessed ? Man I think so...Could always be worse..its not Crack.

I sell Real Estate in toronto and love my job...It is awesome..I live in the Beach area and couldnt ask for a better job..I am very lucky.

The motorcycle thing is wicked...man i love it...nothing better than going for hook and letting it go...or even just sitting in my garage...staring at my shit, trying to figure out what i am doing next.

Winter

Man this seems to be a long winter....lots of snow..cold as hell..slush galore..the whole 9 yards.  It has been good for workin on the Ironhead. I am learning a ton....mainly from all you guys on line...the rest is trial and error. All good.
I just finished welding a ton of plate and tube together to make my garage a little more organized, and also mainly to learn a little more welding.
I am planning a ride to Florida witha few guys from here..Toronto. April 1st..should be awesome..
Just wanted to say thanks for all the help...

Shaving the legs

I have shaved the legs...and will finish the polish..the problem i am having is that the tubes are 4 " over. I cant find some stock tubes...and actually would rather 3-4 under.
I was thinking about cutting the tubes down, but it looks tough. Any input someone can give me would be great. The top is tapered, I can get them threaded, just worried about the taper. Anyway..pls let me know
