...._ _ _ _ the chrome off a trailer hitch....

I polished almost the entire motor on the Ironhead, because all the old style "Hard chrome"was peeling. It also make the motor overheat. It had to be done. It took me a while to get the hang of it. I first tried sanding the parts, but it took forever, and you take too much off, and you will still have scratches.
So You need to have them dipped, but nothing too heavy, so as not to damage the part.
I had most parts dipped at a chrome shop in Toronto...Chuck from Mayfair plating did my stuff..he is great. I then polished it by hand. It was a lot of work and a big learning curve..but well worth it. Better than chrome...I think

I put the fuses in the head light to hide them...and hopefully keep them dry..got the light with a match from an old bike in a junk yard...it was full of mud..solid. Sounds stupid but it was a lot of work..had to buff it, paint the inside..re wire. looks great too

Belt buckle points cover

This is a belt buckle we converted to a points cover....also have a match as a gas cap

Working on it

Valve stem seals

Hey Guys... I am in the middle of re-building my 74 Ironhead 1000, I am a rookie at this, but trying to do everything myself, with help from a good friend of mine, who's background is all Norton, so he isnt too sure either.

My question is, do I need valve stem seals or not, ?

Any help would be great
